Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, Agility, Balance & Coordination, Flexibility and Cardiovascular Endurance are all vital components of a solid fitness program and help you on the journey to healthy body composition.
Muscular Strength is the ability to carry out work against a resistance ie., planks, lunges, squats.
Muscular Endurance is the ability to repeat a series of muscle contractions without fatiguing ie., push-ups, walking lunges, bicep curls.
Agility is the ability to quickly change body position or direction…getting up and down off the floor, walking backwards, squatting side to side.
Flexibility is the capacity of a joint to move through its full range of motion…fully extend your elbow, coming up on tip-toes, bringing knee to chest.
Balance and Coordination is the ability to stay upright and stay in control of body movement…fall prevention, fluid gait, being able to change course while walking to avoid a hazard with ease and safety.
Cardiovascular Endurance or aerobic fitness (stamina), is the ability to exercise continuously for extended periods without tiring...walking, swimming, dance aerobics, NIA etc.
Body Composition is the distribution of muscle and fat in your body.
